Why under ground MMA?
Chilliwack has a thriving underground MMA scene that was created when city council took a "ban and do not talk to approach" regarding MMA. As with all forms of "prohibition" it has failed, forcing the sport under ground to take place at public parks, schools, and back yards.

Isn't this activity really dangerous?
No, especially if it is done properly, It is much safer than most events that are already taking place on city property.

Why did you decide to openly support Chilliwack's under ground MMA scene?
The police and local Council have portrayed MMA enthusiast as gang members and rowdies. Nothing could be further from the truth, MMA fighters are the best atheltes in the world, very few activities even come close to the amount of dedication it takes to become proficient at this sport. Simply put MMA is not a crime! And a bunch of really great kids love this sport and its absolutely absurd that a few narrow minded people have tried to block the sport for personal reasons.

Why isn't the city of Chilliwack allowing MMA?
Honestly it is a very sad situation if you have ever seen the movie Footlose that about sums it up. We have a very judgmental Mayor who has been repeatedly asked to co-operate and help create legitimate channels for the people of this community to participate in the sport of MMA. She has declined thus creating a vibrant underground scene. The Mayor will hide behind reasons like liability, but it's all a lies. MMA is an insurable activity sanctioned in the majority of the world. It doesn't happen in Chilliwack because the Mayor has said " I personaly hate it."

Isn't this MMA thing illegal?
No, and don't let any one try to convince you that it is if "agreeing to fight" was a crime alot of hockey players would be in alot of trouble.

What do you think should happen?
It's obvious what should happen, MMA is not a crime! The only way anything has ever resolved is when people work together to find a solution that meets the needs of all parties involved. The problem is Chilliwack Council has taken a "ban and do not communicate" approach to the MMA issue. As a result a large under ground community has flourished in Chilliwack; Prohibition has failed once again!

How do I become a part of MMA?
We recomend joining a legitmate martial arts club. As far as the UG stuff the first rule of fight club... well you know.
